ABOUT US Tshwane North Outreach (TNO), formerly the Wolmer Community Project, is a registered non-profit organisation with an approved constitution and a management board which assists the manager in overseeing and co-ordinating the activities of the organisation. The organisation was established in May 1996 in Wolmer, which is a low cost housing area as an initiative of the Directorate of Housing Services of the Tshwane Metro Council in co-operation with volunteers. The main goal of the project is community development but as a result of the dire poverty in this area, material aid is essential.  A wide range of services and assistance is provided to address social problems and needs and relieve poverty in this area. In 1999 an outreach leg, namely Motswedi wa Lerato, meaning Fountain of Love, was started which operates in the Northern areas of the Tshwane Metro and the North West Province.  It developed as a result of escalating poverty and extensive economic and social needs and problems in these areas. The outreach leg is presently involved with about 20 organisations which provide services in areas like GaRankuwa, Soshanguve, Mabopane, Winterveld, Hammanskraal, Stinkwater in Gauteng, as well as Klipgat, Celuki, Kgothatsanang and others in the North West Province. We assist these organisations by whatever means we have available but respect the organisations’ independence at all times. The name of the organisation was changed from Wolmer Community Project to Tshwane North Outreach in 2011 in order to emphasise the extended area in which TNO operates.
